combiSmart - Small but Splendid

With the innovative combiSmart spout, SIG Combibloc is presenting a new screw cap for small size applications, such as sauces, creams, juices and milk drinks. This screw cap offers an easy to drink and pour solution for on-the-go consumption and portion pack delivery. Especially designed for small sizes, combiSmart is tamper evident and re-closable, making it also convenient for accurate pouring in the kitchen. With this innovation SIG Combibloc is meeting the growing demand for packaging solutions that offer great convenience, especially for small size formats.

combiSmart is a three-part opening system with flange, integrated cutting ring and cap offering a lightweight, and logistically optimized opening. A clearly visible tamper evident seal gives the consumer confidence to its safety and integrity. One twist is all that is needed for the ring in the flange to cut through the carton, easily and hygienically. The large opening, together with its relatively high flange of 14.3 mm permits drip-free pouring and comfortable drinking. After opening, the cap just has to be screwed on again and the carton pack can be transported safely. There is also a wide variety of colour options available that can nicely compliment the graphics
printed on the carton.

Similar to all SIG Combibloc opening solutions, the combiSmart spout is post-applied. After the carton is filled and sealed, it then leaves the filing station and moves along the production line to the ACF applicator where the spout is mechanically applied to the carton. This process insures secure aseptic filling is always achieved, and there is no interference with the carton integrity.

The combiSmart innovation is very practical for on-the-go consumption and also as a pouring aid for accurate measuring in the kitchen.  With this new development, SIG Combibloc has once again clearly demonstrated its long-term experience and expertise delivers significant results. As early as 1993, SIG Combibloc introduced the world's first spout on a beverage carton – an innovation that quickly won over consumers – followed by many more solutions that brought convenience to the consumers, combiSmart now joins the long established tradition of creating innovative packaging solutions!
